Have you ever wanted to be a part of a mission team but just didn’t think you had the time or even the right gifts to be apart of one...Oh yea...and aren’t mission teams sent to places on the other side of the world!? Not quite so here at Bartlett UMC and ....have we got a group for you!!! At Bartlett United Methodist Church we have discovered that we can be an important part of the mission field! We came up with the idea of having a constant mission project….it’s called FOOTSOLDIERS. Here is the idea: Anyone and everyone who has a desire to be the hands and feet of Christ are welcomed….anyone and everyone who wants to be a part of the mission of sharing the hope and love of Christ has a place! And the best part is that it was started for the group to be a no-stress mission team. Footsoldiers are never to feel “obligated” to service but have a desire to share hope in the world by participating in those projects they feel are apart of their faith journey. Footsoldiers have been able to chose their mission projects that they wanted to do and also come up with different ideas so that different types of mission work could be done. We have served soup kitchens, had fun and “cleaning” parties for the Ronald McDonald House and Target houses, we have played BINGO at the nursing home and even painted fingernails too! We have baked and delivered cookies to teachers and also to firefighters...we have “cracked” open our new

Sanctuary hymnals and have been involved with walk-a-thons...we have sorted food and clothes, we have cleaned and hauled where we have been asked to clean and haul! We have even starved ourselves to learn and support World Vision as a global mission... AND THE BEST THING IS THAT WE LOVE EVERY MINUTE OF IT!!!!

Footsoldiers is an awesome opportunity to become a missionary even when you are hanging out with friends! It’s a up close way to minister to the community and also the world. We have done great things and are excited about things to come...so hop on the journey of missions...it’s a unbelievable ride….and we dare say you will have a BLAST!
